DELL XPS 15Z Hands on Review

The XPS 15z carries with it the same DNA as the XPS 15, but the excess fat has been cut down somewhat to give the notebook a very sleek and streamlined look. this is often the premium version of the quality XPS notebook and it actually shows within the style.
The notebook comes draped in a matte silver paint job that keeps fingerprints treed whereas maintaining a premium look. This theme is also carried forward on the speaker grills. It weighs around 2.5 Kg, so it’s not particularly light. For connectivity, we have a headphone and microphone jack on the right, along with the slot-loading DVD burner. Around the back, we have the charging port and the LAN jack. On the left, we have the rest of the ports, which include HDMI, DisplayPort, eSATA/USB port, USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port. There’s also a memory card reader and a battery charge status indicator.
This unit of the XPS 15z was powered  by an Intel Core i7-2640M running at 2.8 GHz which can go up to 3.5 Ghz with Turbo Boost. different parts include 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1 TB hard drive running at 5400 rate and an Nvidia GeForce GT 525M dedicated graphics card with 2 GB of video memory. The notebook runs silently and is comparatively cool on regular usage. Even while charging, the notebook gets heat however never overly thus, and you'll well use it on your lap whereas it’s charging. If you’re doing something quite simply surfing the net or watching videos, the notebook gets noticeably hotter. Coming to the performance, evidently, the slightly quicker Core i7 will perform a little higher than the previous model that we reviewed.
For multimedia, the XPS 15z is the perfect tool. the full HD screen looks completely gorgeous; the colors displayed are terribly vivid and extremely pop on the screen. The Nvidia GT 525M also supports Optimus technology, which means the discrete card only kicks in when there’s some serious graphics to be rendered.
The XPS 15z comes with 64 WHr 8-cell battery pack, that managed 1 hour and 15 minutes within the Battery Eater professional check. This is not bad given the parts and the Full HD screen. underneath normal usage, you should be able to get around 4hrs of good usage.
This particular configuration of the dell XPS 15z can set you back by Rs 84,900, which makes it quite pricy and definitely a premium notebook. Having said that, we are going to say that you just won’t be defeated with this laptop. The design, finish and also the attention given to every detail ar impeccable and that we will see why they’ve priced it this high. If you are on the lookout for a premium grade notebook, the XPS 15z may be a excellent choice for you.
